CASE STUDY

Commercial and Community

In addition to residential and householder applications we have also deal with a number of commercial and community applications.

An example of a commercial development was included gaining planning permission for 4 industrial units at Broxhead Trading Estate, Broxhead Farm Road, Lindford, Bordon. This raised a variety of issues including access arrangements, part of the site being located in the countryside and potential impact on a nearby Special Protection Area, which related to rare species of ground nesting birds.

In granting planning permission the Local Planning Authority accepted our arguments that the development was consistent with local and national planning policy.

A particularly challenging application was for obtaining planning permission for the construction of an extension an  existing community centre on land at Chadwell Heath, London. The site of the development was land locked with no direct access from a public highway.  In order to gain planning permission it was necessary to negotiate with the

London Borough of Barking & Dagenham Council who owned the recreation ground adjacent to the site. Through negotiation access was gained to the site via the recreation ground to allow the construction to be undertaken in addition to using part of the Council’s land as a works compound.
