CASE STUDY

Listed Buildings

Working with an associate architect, we obtained planning permission and listed building consent for the extension and part change of use of a retail unit to residential in Odiham, Hampshire. Application Summary

Set within Odiham High Street the grade II listed building comprised an antiques shop with a flat above. Due to its listed status, Listed Building Consent was also required in addition to planning permission. The application was informed by a Heritage Statement provided by Inception Planning which provided a justification as to why the development would not cause harm to the significance to the heritage statement of the building.

It was also necessary to negotiate with the Council to agree the level of retail accommodation to be retained, provide cycle parking and justify the removal of non-original features.

We also have experience of dealing with listed building applications for commercial and residential properties. This has included the renovation of a grade II listed building in Mayfair, London  which we provided a Heritage Statement for to justify the works and an application for listed building consent to for new windows to a listed building used as a restaurant in Shepherds Market, London.
