Acting as the agent for the developer Meadway Homes we helped gain planning permission for 25 flats on previously developed land in Esher, Surrey. The development replaced a single dwelling with two blocks of flats.
The main issue raised by the development related to the delivery of affordable housing and negotiation with the Council on the level of financial contribution to be provided. On behalf of the developer we successfully negotiated a financial contribution in lieu of on site provision meaning that the planning permission could be granted and the development proceed.
In granting planning permission the Council considered the development to be acceptable in terms of its impact on the character of the area and provide significant benefits including delivery of new dwellings and a financial contribution towards affordable housing provision.
